 American Massage Therapy Association

About Me

I was born in Aberdeen, Scotland and moved to the United States in 1991 after graduating from the University of Edinburgh. I hold a master’s degree in communication disorders from Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina, and have also worked for 18 years as a speech-language pathologist.

After personally experiencing the restorative powers of receiving massage therapy, I felt drawn to study more about the field and obtained a massage therapy certification in 2005 from the Center for Massage and Natural Health in Asheville. I have maintained a successful private practice since then and truly enjoy helping each client with relaxation and pain management. I make sure to attend many continuing education classes in order to continually grow as a massage therapist and better serve my clients.

In my spare time, I enjoy singing and have been involved in numerous musical groups over the years. I also love practicing yoga, creative writing, organic gardening, reading, canoeing, travel, and photography.

Gail in the poppies

I grow my own organic herbs, flowers and vegetables. I also enjoy blending my own aromatherapy oils—I guess I'm something like a holistic mad chemist.
